Parents were treated to a musical extravaganza by the Pre-Prep children to show some of the skills they have learned in lessons during the year. The Choir sang beautifully, as usual, with a variety of catchy tunes beginning with ‘What shall we do with the drunken sailor?’ Always a favourite.
How delightful it was to see the Nursery children participating, both younger and older classes with songs including ‘One man went to mow’ and ‘The Grand Old Duke of York’. We loved the little group following the lawnmower!
There was Scottish dancing and Irish dancing with lively jigs to accompany. The highlight of the afternoon was Reception reciting the poem of ‘the Owl and the Pussycat. How they spoke with confidence and self-esteem, it was lovely to see.
The proceedings concluded with group singing of Drunken Sailor again and an encore with the parents participating. Ice creams were a perfect ending to the day.
