Preparatory

ICTThe school day is centred round academic work. However, a good deal of breathing space is allowed in the afternoons and evenings, when the children take part in a wide variety of games and activities and make the most of the extensive grounds. All such facilities are open to every child and we take care to ensure that boarders and day pupils form one cummunity.

Breakfast is at 7.55. The formal day begins with school prayers at 8.35. Six lessons follow, divided by a morning break at which a drink and snack is provided. Lunch is at 1.15 and the half-hour which follows is usually the time for choir and instrumental rehearsals.

Games are played on three afternoons a week and lessons take place on the other two days. Children in Years Three and Four are free to depart at 3.45. They are very welcome to stay for optional activities, however, while the older children attend a further lesson and do their prep. Day children in Years Five to Eight who are not boarding may leave at 6.00 after completing their prep.
