Learning Outside the Classroom – Forest School

Taverham Hall School is committed to Learning Outside the Classroom.  In addition to educational trips and visits, pupils are given the opportunity to reap the rewards of the school’s timetabled Forest School programme which takes place within our extensive grounds and conservation woodlands.

Forest School activities are linked to all areas of the EYFS whilst National Curriculum subjects are reinforced and supported by practical, hands-on learning. Read the rest of this entry »

Canoeing Fun

The canoeing hobby, which took place during the Summer Term, was extremely well attended and saw the children’s skill levels increase significantly.

Nature Detectives

Summer Term 2010 saw the inauguration of the Taverham Hall Nature Club. 

We were delighted to welcome Nick Acheson, Suzie and B from Norfolk Wildlife Trust to provide expert leadership for the wide variety of activities undertaken. Activities that took the club from Snake Wood to the river bank and increased its member’s powers of observation and heightened their listening skills. Taverham Hall School Qualify for the Euro Talk Semi Finals

The first round of EuroTalk Junior Language Challenge has now ended and all the scores have been collected to determine who will be going through to the next round of the competition.

Year 8 Pupils spend day at John Innes Centre

As part of their Leavers Programme our Year 8 pupils were able to visit the internationally renowned John Innes Centre.

Developing Co-ordination Skills in the Sports Hall

The Nursery children use our wonderful Sports Hall for two sessions a week to develop the skills required when using small apparatus. 

The children have hoops, balls, hockey sticks, tennis racquets, skittles, targets and many other pieces of equipment to aid hand/eye co-ordination, motor skills and control. Read the rest of this entry »

Year 2′s French Breakfast

Year 3 Potato Growing Competition

Year 3 have taken part in the British Potato Council’s,’ Grow your own Potato competition’.
