The Highest Tower!

Year 2 had another great afternoon outside in Forest School this week and were very lucky indeed to have a lovely sunny day too!

This week the challenge was to build the highest tower from sticks. Each group had to work out how to create a strong structure from the natural materials around them as well as working together. Read the rest of this entry »

Busy week in the Dorms

It has been a busy week in the dorms, with many pupils boarding for the first time using their ‘Taster Invitation’.

Photos and Skeletons

This week our Reception children all brought in photographs of themselves as babies and toddlers plus an item of clothing that they wore as a baby. The girls and boys had great fun guessing who was who in the photos and realised how much each of them had grown when they examined their baby clothes. Read the rest of this entry »

Languages Day

The annual celebration of Languages Day at Taverham Hall School took a very international dimension last Friday. 

The day started for our boarders with a Continental Breakfast followed by assembly for all pupils on the theme of languages and multi-culturalism reminding the children of the importance to respect other people’s cultures and mother tongues. Read the rest of this entry »

Harvest Festival

This week ended with our Harvest Festival which was attended by many parents and friends. Once again we were overwhelmed by the generosity of parents as the children struggled into the hall carrying overflowing baskets of produce!  

We welcomed Rev Paul Seabrook from Taverham Parish church, who took the service and Major McBride from the Salvation Army who accepted the produce and explained to the children where it would be going.   Read the rest of this entry »

Forest School Creations

This week our Year 2 children again worked in teams to make circular patterns on the forest floor using a selection of leaves and forest ‘finds’ to create some beautiful varied and coloured creations.
