Celebrating our similarities and differences

The children in our Early Years Acorn and Oak classes have been settling in nicely, getting to know each other and learning about our similarities and differences.

In Oak, we have all been Creative Connies, looking at ourselves in the mirror to identify the different colours we have on our faces including eye, hair and skin colour and celebrating how everybody is different and unique. We used lots of positional language when painting our self portraits to figure out where to paint our features. Esme’s painting was extremely realistic; she even painted on her beautiful purple glasses whilst Jack added ears and eyebrows!

In Acorn, inspired by Yohann’s love for the Nursery Rhyme ‘The Wheels on the Bus’, the children have all helped each other decorate a large bus for their classroom display. Each child who attends Acorn class will feature in a window of the bus!
