The Pre Prep Sports Day was a huge success and great enjoyment was had by all pupils and spectators on this beautifully sunny day.
The programme of events consisted of :
Balancing and Running races as well as a Cup and Saucer race for our Reception children whilst our Year 1 boys and girls went ’neck-and-neck’ in both their Potato & Spoon as well as their Running races. Our Year 2s battled it out in their ever so close Sack and Running races.
The Year 1s also showed off some excellent batting and running skills in their Chain Gang event with the Year 2 boys and girls showing off their fitness and endurance in the Marathon which was won by Saxon Earley.
The event finished with all teams (yellow, red, blue and green) competing in the Whole School Relay.
At the end of all events the red team were the overall winners due to a combination of some fantastic team work and individual wins and became the proud winners of the Team Shield.
Cup Winners of the day were:
Jack Beckett – the Athletic’s Cup for Sportsmanship
Ben Blowers – the Sexton Cup for Achievement in Sport
Saxon Earley – the Athlete of the Day Cup
The cups mentioned above, as well as the Team Shield were kindly presented to the winners by our parent Mrs Bridgette Hall, who in turn was awarded a ‘big hug’ and flowers at the end by her son William!
The sports day was followed by an equally well attended and successful school fete organised by the school’s Friends Society – details of which are also posted on the website.
