A message from the Headmaster
“We believe that how and where children learn is just as important as what they learn.”
We are a modern, forward-thinking school with traditional values embedded firmly at its roots; a place where academic excellence flourishes alongside creativity and fun. We recognise that pupils who have a positive approach to learning will be motivated to develop skills, interest and understanding. The School’s Growth Mindset approach from Early Years onwards shapes children’s belief that they can change and grow throughout their lives. This is further demonstrated by our commitment to the Prep School Baccalaureate and our bespoke Wensum Award where the acquisition of life skills goes hand in hand with the acquisition of subject knowledge.
Boys and girls aged 2 to 13 years old are taught that academic accuracy is fundamental – as is showing kindness and consideration for others. Our 100 acres of school grounds, described as a ‘paradise for pupils’ by inspectors, allows for a huge range of learning opportunities. Outside lessons take place through our fully integrated Forest School programme and learning is consolidated in our fabulous outdoor classroom.
“The strength of a school is determined by the quality of its staff.”
Our dedicated staff works hard to create a supportive and nurturing environment for all children in our care, something which is enchanced by our own Mental Health First Aiders teaching team who are there to assist the school community. As a school we seek to strike the right balance between school and family time and great emphasis is placed on pupil and staff Wellbeing.
It is our mission to develop empowered learners and pupils are encouraged to make decisions for themselves, have respect for one another and recognise the value of their responsibility in the learning process. Within the School’s unique setting, our pupils are given every opportunity, time and space to grow into independent learners and well-rounded citizens.
Don’t take our word for it
