Shortly before Christmas time Jacob Dye felt that it was “a good day for scooting”, so he cut an old scooter rescued from the Nursery into halves and our first two-seater stretched scooter was conceived. This was a delightful, “off the wall” creation, leading to a collection of ever more quirky vehicles.
This led in turn to the establishment of a new Hobby for the 2008 Spring Term:“Buggy Building”!

Hart Fargo combined a scooter and a mountain bike to create a Scootabike.

The front end of the scooter re-appeared in William Burton’s 3 wheeled buggy.

Scott Wigglesworth cut up no less than three bikes to make his 2 wheel drive tricycle.

Just when one begins to wonder how weird these things are going to get we see Freddie Gayfer and Blyth Few grafting a bicycle onto a shopping trolley. There was a suggestion that it may be possible to buy straitjackets on E bay for this pair.

As I recall, buggies used to be made from salvaged boxes, with pram wheels and a piece of rope for steering.
Our creative youngsters have updated this somewhat, with some remarkable results to date.
