Pre-Prep visit to Easton College Farm - 4th March 2008

The two Reception classes spent the morning at Easton College as part of our Farming topic, taking a long walk all around the farm with a member of staff who told the children all about the farm and its animals.

It was wonderful to be able to get very close to the sheep and their lambs, the piglets, highland cattle, deer, partridges, calves and dairy cows. Most of the children enjoyed stroking the calves, especially as they licked their fingers!

We were very lucky to see some show jumping and the boys were very enthusiastic about the range of vehicles in the farmyard. In the afternoon the children painted pictures of the things they had seen.

Next week we will have hatched some chicks in the classroom too!  Watch this space.
