"What if it Rains?" A production by the Quantum Theatre Company - 13th March 2008

Both Pre-Prep and prep schools were treated to a musical comedy looking at the health and environmental issues of travelling to school.

The story centred around Mason and his friend Tilly who, whilst walking to school, found that Mason's computer game seemed to be taking over in real life.

In order to make it to the school gates they enlisted the help of the audience to answer environmental and scientific questions about the problems associated with large numbers of vehicles on the roads, the fitness benefits of walking to school, aerobic exercise, the walking bus, air quality, greenhouse gases, and more.

Our children seemed to really enjoy this highly educational production, and the younger ones in particular enjoyed joining in with Tilly's song: "Walk to your school...Don’t be a fool...Give up the car...It’s not very far...Cos outside is best...If it’s cold wear a vest...You’ve got the drift...Give up your lift...And walk to your school".

Not an option for children travelling in from far afield, perhaps, but nevertheless thought-provoking and very quite instructive.
