Pre-Prep Sports Day - 23rd May 2008

The sun shone and great fun was had by all at the Pre-Prep sports day.  Spectators were treated to a great display of teamwork by both year one and year two in their events, which opened the proceedings of the afternoon. Thanks to the hard work of Mr Goldsmith during the term, the children have been developing their organisational as well as their physical skills during Games lessons. The result was two super events, ‘Assault Course’ and ‘Chain Gang’ for the spectators to watch with all children making the utmost effort for their team.

We were then entertained by hoop races and ball relay run by Reception, potato and spoon races by Year One, skipping races and a ‘Marathon’ by Year 2, as well as a whole pre-prep school relay. In addition, all children ran a sprint race in their year group. Phew!

After providing all the adults with such an entertaining afternoon the children were able to have a much-deserved treat at the Friend’s fete where ice creams and hot dogs were available.

Well done to all the children and congratulations to the following Year Twos:

Charlie Sizer, Athlete of the Day Award

Evie Andrews, Athletics Award

Harry Fisher, Sportsmanship Award

Kayanne Shaikh, Team captain of the Team Cup winners
