Pre Prep Swimming Gala - 13th May 2008

All the children in the Pre Prep took part in the annual Swimming Gala.

The Reception and Year 1 children swam a series of races designed to illustrate the progression in stroke technique and confidence in the water. The Year 2 children swam a series of competitive races using front and back crawl and the breaststroke. They concluded the gala with a very exciting treasure hunt relay.

At Taverham Hall all the children in the Pre Prep swim once a week in the school swimming pool. Their teacher, Colleen Millar, is the President of the Royal Life Saving Society (Norfolk branch) and she is an Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) tutor.

After the Gala parents and children enjoyed delicious home made cakes baked by two Taverham Mums and a very generous £205.70 was raised to support a young victim of the Burma earthquake.

Congratulations go to all those children who were presented with trophies and certificates on the day.
