This week Year 1 took an educational (but fun!) walk around the woods and the 100-acre school grounds as part of their investigations into 'Living and Life Processes'. They were looking particularly for different kinds of plants and vegetation that provide the habitats for mini-creatures.

The sun shone as the children looked at the different flowers and plants to be found in the woods, the school pond and the various grassy areas.

Most popular were the Bluebells that are just coming into flower as well as the primroses.

In the pond the children saw Marsh Marigolds. Marsh Marigolds are a welcome sight in early spring and it is such a shame that they seem to disappear as fast as they emerge.

On the way back everyone took the opportunity to run and climb in the exciting and challenging natural areas that the school so abundantly provides.
