This annual event is eagerly anticipated by all the children; the excitement mounted through the day until at last (well, half-past three, really) the children were able to change into their disco outfits! One suspects that many of the boys had put just as much carefull planning into looking cool as the girls had, if not more. Mirrors were in great demand, as accessories and hairstyles were checked.
DJ Freddie Mann played the CDs, encouraged budding karaoke singers and chose the best dancers. Teachers joined in the fun hoping no doubt to win one of the stylish balloon hats!
A pause halfway through the proceedings allowed the dancers to recharge their batteries with sausages, carrots, cucumber, hula-hoops and iced biscuits provided by the Friends. The disco finished with a school conga and as peace settled once again one child voiced the thoughts of all .... how long is it until the disco next year?
