U9A vs Gresham’s  Score 4-5
LPS@TH U9s faced Gresham’s in their first Netball match of the season. Gresham’s started strong, putting pressure on our defence. The girls began to create chances but their final ball was letting them down. Despite being 4-0 down at half time and the posts being higher than normal, the girls went into the second half determined and fighting. Bella, Olivia and Amelia defended tightly and made lots of interceptions turning the ball over and helped support the attack up the court. Evie, Angelica and Sophie worked hard, creating space and lots of chances for shooter Theresa. The goals started coming for LPS@TH and they found themselves 4-4 with a few minutes to go. Gresham’s pulled another goal back and although the girls had a few chances in the last minute of the game they couldn’t quite convert, narrowly loosing 5-4.
Well done on a great turn around performance! You should all be so pleased with your improvements throughout the game, it was a pleasure to watch and coach you all!

U9B v Gresham’s Score: 4–1
This was the very first game of competitive Netball for several of the girls, who were all very excited at the prospect of a contest against their North Norfolk rivals. The game got off to a flying start with the LPS@TH girls putting into practice all the skills they had learnt so far. They were immediately on the attack with some accurate passing by Venna at centre to Imogen at wing attack and then onto Angelica at goal attack, who showed some excellent dodging, outmaneuvering her opponent to pass to Sofia, who was perfectly positioned under the goal post, scoring in the first minute. This was the pattern for the first quarter with the home team taking the lead by 3 goals to 0.
LPS@TH increased the lead in the next quarter by a further goal and Gresham’s replied just before half time to make the score 4-1 to the home team.
The next two periods of play showed tenacity all round, with some excellent defending by Danielle as goalkeeper and Ella at goal defence who worked exceptionally well together, ably supported by Freya to keep their opponents at bay.
It was such a pleasure to watch these girls play, with a great crowd of parents supporting from the balcony. The girls weren’t overawed by the occasion at all and just showed how well they could apply their newly acquired skills under pressure.
We are all so proud of the way you played, girls, with each and every one of you trying your best. Well done!

U9C v Gresham’s Score: 5-3
This was the girls’ first game this season, and they certainly rose to the occasion. They played short quarters and in the first quarter Gresham’s opened the scoring with a goal and the quarter ended 1-0. In the second quarter the girls stepped it up a notch and scored 3 goals some excellent shooting from Isabelle and Emilia. India, Lissi and Georgina all worked really hard in the middle of the court.
The next quarter saw a further 2 goals for the girls and Gresham’s was unable to score due to some superb defending from Grace and Syna. The last quarter was a battle as Gresham’s tried to get back into the game. With the final score at 5-3, it was a very close and exciting game in which some of the girls were playing their first-ever game of Netball. The girls applied all the things they had been learning in games – well done, girls, a great performance.
