U9A v Beeston Hall Score: 2-9
LPS@TH soon found themselves trailing in a difficult match against Beeston. Having only lost by one goal to Beeston in a recent tournament, LPS@TH were shocked to find they were down five goals to nil at half time. Despite excellent defending by Finley and Raffy, Beeston were able to break through into the D many times. Keeper Oliver made some excellent saves and clearances, but it was the superior shooting skill of the Beeston forwards which proved costly to LPS@TH.
The second half saw LPS@TH work hard, despite the score, and a goal came when Thomas knocked the ball past the Beeston keeper. Good work from Reuben in the middle caused Beeston some worry and Theo controlled the left side of the pitch. Brett had a brilliant game as a forward, but a switch to defence saw him make some strong tackles. Another goal came for Thomas, but sadly with Beeston scoring a clutch more, the match ended 9-2 to the opposition.
All the boys played well and kept their work-rate going, despite the heavy scoreline. This was a tough match but one where lots of experience was gained, ready for the season next year.

Team: Oliver W, Reuben B, Brett W, Raffy P, Finley W, Theo C, Thomas H

U9B v Beeston Score: 3-1
On a sunny afternoon, LPS@TH’s U9s enjoyed an away fixture to Beeston Hall. LPS@TH started very well, scoring within the first 30 seconds, with George finishing well at the near post. Beeston created several chances and LPS@TH were grateful to Harry who made some great saves in goal. Jack made it 2-0 to LPS@TH before half time with another excellent finish.
Theo G and Louis made some great runs in midfield, meanwhile Aston and Theo D both made some great tackles in defence to keep Beeston at bay. Sadly, midway through the second half, Beeston did break through and made it 2-1. However, LPS@TH kept working extremely hard and managed to find a third goal with George getting his third and making it 3-1 at full time.

Team: Harry L, Theo D, Rayyan R, Aston B, Louis H, George S, Theo G, Jack J
