U13s through to 3rd round of National U13 Cricket Cup Competition

LPS@TH 172 for 3 off 20 overs St Andrews 116 for 7 off 20 overs LPS@TH win by 56 runs

LPS@TH welcomed St Andrews Prep from Eastbourne on Saturday 12 May in the second round of the National U13 cricket cup competition having beaten St Felix on the previous Wednesday. We would like to thank Danny W who stepped in at the very last minute when we lost Joseph G to illness overnight. LPS@TH won the toss and chose to bat and made a very good start with both Sam H and Charlie H continuing their impressive form with the bat, Sam made 32 before Charlie fell on 59. The scene was then set for Jayden B to come in and try to accelerate the run rate which he did with aplomb scoring 65 runs off just 31 balls including 4 sixes. This gave us a very competitive total of 172 to try and defend. St Andrews started very well and were well up with the run rate, before we had to come off for and hour because of passing rain, we then manged to get back in and take the important wickets of the impressive St Andrews opening batsmen. The boys produced some great ground fielding and took wickets at regular intervals keeping us in the game. Elliot H and Harvey P then had to leave to go to NCFC awards dinner so many thanks to the generosity of the St Andrews staff who agreed to let us have two substitute fielders, Riley B and Bertie C who were both soon into the action saving runs. LPS@TH managed to bowl a total of 9 bowlers who all played their part in an impressive victory by 57 runs. We now have to travel to Aldenham to take on the champions of Hertfordshire in the next round!
