U11A v Norwich School
LPSTH 154 Norwich School 156 – 7
LPSTH won the toss and decided to bat and were soon up against it with JC caught out in the first over. James M stepped up and scored an impressive 47, Bertie chipping in with 14 and James A 11 before Reilly came in to score a swashbuckling 38 before being bowled, giving us a good total of 154 off our 25 overs.
Bertie and James opened with an impressive spell with Bertie finishing with 1 for 13. The Norwich opener batted very well to score 45 before being bowled by JC who also got the big hitting Norwich captain out soon afterwards. Norwich were just about keeping up with the run rate and a big hitting lower order batsman got their team ahead of the rate and as a result they managed to win with three balls left.
This was a terrific match between two impressive teams, but unfortunately we fell just short on this occasion. We have one match left away at OBH and hope we can finish off on a high for what has been a very encouraging season for the boys – a team who play the game in the right manner and work hard during training.

U11B v Norwich School
Pairs Hardball, 20 overs, 4 over per batting pair, wickets minus 5 runs, starting total of runs 200
It was yet another impressive win for the U11B team which leaves them unbeaten this season with one game to play away to OBH on Wednesday 3 July.
On a warm afternoon, LPSTH headed over to Redmayne playing fields to face Norwich School. LPSTH won the toss and Aidan F decided that the U11B team would field and bowl first. A tight opening bowling partnership between Oscar M and Harry T restricted the opposition to only 12 runs off 4 overs. These two were backed up ably by Arthur C and then Harry S with a change of the line and pace. Sam G bowled bravely towards the death of their innings, being prepared to give the ball plenty of flight and Sam C was very tidy behind the stumps. Our boys were chasing 224 to win.
The Norwich team bowled with pace and purpose in the opening overs and took some outstanding catches which limited LPSTH’s progress. Oscar M had another exciting innings hitting 4 boundaries with some effective striking. As the last batting pair, Toby C and Henry S came in to face the game it was finely in the balance. As the last over approached LPSTH had a lead of 5 runs but could not afford to lose a wicket. Both batsmen showed a steady temperament to see the over out without any silly singles or outlandish shots. LPSTH won by 5 runs. Another great victory.
