County Cup Final report:
LPS@TH v Langley Senior School LPS@TH 123-7 off 24 overs – LSS 141-3 off 24 overs – LSS won by 18 runs
LPS@TH won the toss in the U13 County Cup Final and decided to bowl first. This proved to be a good decision, as a destructive opening spell of bowling from Jack and Joseph left the hosts 23-3 off 5 overs, removing 3 very dangerous batsmen. However, an excellent partnership of 118 between J Black and J Wicks from the Senior School ensured LSS recovered to a good score of 141-3 off their 24 overs. The pick of the bowlers were Joseph G (2-19) and Jayden B (5 overs for just 3 runs) and the team fielded excellently as a unit.
In reply, LPS@TH started excellently, with Jayden and Sam H putting on 67 for the first wicket. Harvey P continued to support Jayden (55), and at 81-1 off 18 overs the game was in the balance. However, unfortunately wickets then started to fall regularly as a result of some strong LSS bowling, eventually falling 18 runs short. The boys really did play well and gave a very strong LSS side, including 5 U13 county players, a very competitive game, which could have gone either way.
Coach Mr Findlay would just like to thank the entire squad this year on a very strong season, with lots of potential moving forward next year. It has been an excellent group of boys who listen well and have developed hugely this term. Sam C, Callum R and George L – good luck next year and keep working hard!

LPS@TH v KES LPS@TH: 56-6 off 13 overs – KES: 55 all out; LPS@TH won by 4 wickets
LPS@TH won the toss and decided to bowl on a bowler friendly pitch. Jack W and Joseph G opened the bowling excellently, keeping it very tight, restricting KES to just 9-2 off 8 overs. Jack finished his spell with exceptional figures of 3 overs, 3 maidens and 1 wicket. We managed to eventually bowl KES out for 55 off the last ball of the innings, with Jayden, Archie and Sam H all bowling nicely.
In reply, we got off to a poor start with the bat in bowler friendly conditions, against a good KES opening attack. However, despite losing 6 wickets during the run chase, we were always in control, largely due to the sensible and responsible innings from Charlie H who finished 17 not out to see his team to victory and securing our place into the U13 County Cup final next week.
