All those performing in our first Soirée of the year had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Great enthusiasm, energy and hard work was displayed by all and this was boosted further by such a supportive and motivating audience.

A range of instruments were involved: guitar, piano, voice, drums, strings, cornet and oboe. The talent was extremely visible along with the support and kindness amongst the instrumentalists.

It was wonderful to see those performing for the very first time. The amount of confidence and ability shown was very promising and certainly left the audience looking forward to their future performances. Of course, many participated in order to rehearse in preparation for exams, or to gain further performance experience. All delivered to a high standard.

To hear pupils thanking their accompanists and audience for their support was very mature and lovely to see. Ella B (Year 7) said: “I really enjoyed performing, thank you.” This was her first ever time singing in front of an audience and it certainly looks promising that it will not be her last!

Mrs Christine Godfrey (Leading Visiting Music Teacher) playing on the oboe, closed the evening. A truly inspiring performance and enjoyed by adults and pupils alike.
